Save this one for the middle of your vacation stay. President Truman came on a vacation and the Navy had this home available on the base, so here he stayed. It was learned over the years how much Mr Truman loved the climate and the neat things everybody else likes about Key West. They fixed up the home and declared it as Truman's the Little White House, as it remains today. History shows that he and his staff came to the island for retreats during his presidency approximately a dozen times.
This is a very special part of the island, a large gated complex which plays host to a series of Key West Landmarks. You get a nice tour here, typically done by a volunteer. Yes, a local resident giving their time to this outstanding cause.
Outside around the grounds are different things to see and enjoy. It is wonderful, and it is perfect for photography and video taking. Everything is so green with flowers blooming year round.
